Reader information / Cookies

Your Cookie Choices

You can read the journal and prepare a local planning note without optional tracking being built into the supplied site code.

What cookies and storage mean

Cookies are small pieces of information a website can ask your browser to store. Some support necessary functions; others can be used for preferences, audience measurement or advertising. Browser storage technologies such as localStorage are separate from cookies but can also retain information on a device.

Ordinary browser caching of images, styles and pages is different from setting an analytics or advertising cookie. Hosting and security systems may also have their own technical behavior.

What this journal’s code uses

The supplied HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies or use localStorage or sessionStorage. There are no built-in analytics tags, advertising pixels or third-party embedded media. The navigation menu and reading animations operate without persistent storage.

Separately supplied site services

A hosting provider, security layer or separately supplied consent interface may operate outside these static files. Where a consent control is displayed on the live site, use that control to review the choices it offers. This page does not claim to list unverified cookies added by a deployment service.

Optional tracking should not be introduced without appropriate information and any consent required by applicable law. If the live service differs from the behavior described here, contact us so the relevant details can be clarified.

Managing your browser

Your browser’s privacy settings usually let you inspect, remove or block site cookies and stored data. Clearing site data may reset preferences held by any separately provided consent service. Blocking all cookies may affect other websites or additional services even though this journal’s supplied reading features do not depend on them.

Deleting browser data does not necessarily remove a downloaded planning note, an email you sent or text retained by a clipboard manager. Manage those copies using the relevant application or device settings.

Questions about a specific item

If your browser shows a cookie or stored item you do not understand, email [email protected] with its name and the page where you noticed it. Do not send its full value if it could contain a session identifier or personal information.

Our privacy notice explains the local planning tool, email contact and technical requests in more detail.
